Hesco barrier
A hesco barrier may also referred to as a hesco bastion, hesco defence wall, sand cage, welded gabion box and so on. It is a prefabricated, multi-cellular system, made of zinc coated steel and welded mesh and lined with a non-woven geo-textile.
Modular units can be extended and joined using joining pins. Once extended, it is placed onto sand or stone to serve as a defence wall or bunker.
Hesco barriers are used for military fortification and flood control. For military purposes, some gabion hesco barriers can stop rifle bullets, shell fragments and other shrapnel. When used for flood protection, gabion hesco barriers can be assembled quickly.
